Original Me

No Stranger.

  1. Sigh. I was always sighing then. New depressed girl in a small depressed town. I crossed the rain slick street and ran into the nearest building.
The Gym. 'Oh great', I thought, considering going back out into the storm to the movie store. I decided the Gym was the superior building as far as stability was concerned. There were at least 60 other people inside pearing out at the storm. Every few seconds someone would gasp, conviced they saw a funnel cloud.
'I've been all over the world, lived in cities a million times the size of this one, and THIS is where my dad decided to retire?' I thought, and sighed again.
    Forever sighing.
After a few tense moments the heaviest of the clouds dissipated and the wind died down.
"Close one." I heard the owner say next to me. I took a deep breath and rolled my eyes before turning to face him then plastered a fake smile from ear to ear.
"Sure was." I said trhough gritted teeth. Oh how I hated this town. Everyone was too friendly.
"Well, I have to get to school." I said, and pushed right past him.
"Wait, it's too dangerous still. You shouldn't go alone." He said.
'Oh great, the forty year old wants to walk me to school?' I thought.
"My son can take you. I know you are new in town, and your father would kill me if something happened to you." He explained.
"You know my dad?" I asked.
"Sure, everyone knows your father." He replied.

  3. "How?" I asked.
"Well, he is the most successfull person to ever leave Samstown, Idaho." He said. "I used to go to highschool with him."
"Oh, yeah." I said. My dad really was a wreck. How did he let the fact that this was his hometown go by? And aside from that, this guy looked good for 41. My dad had always looked a lot older then he is, but looking at this guy and seeing him look so much younger was just too much. Must be all the working out.
"Anyway, please let my son give you a ride. I would feel awful if the heavy clouds return and something happens to you." He said. I looked down at my wet converse and sighed. It was still raining outside after all. What the heck.
    "Sure." I said.
    "William!" He shouted.

  4. 'What did I agree to?' I thought. I didn't want a ride to school with some dumb jock. I sighed, not wanting to turn around.
"William, can you give Ms. Thompson a ride to school?" He asked.
"Sure, Pops." I heard, and sighed again. Pops? Finally a turned around. And before me stood the most gorgeous boy I had ever seen. To call him a boy seemed unfair. He was tall and broad shouldered. Not bulky like I had pictured, but muscular all the same. And his face! He stood there in a baseball jersey and blue jeans. A half smurk on his face.
    "Are you coming?" He asked.
"Oh. Yeah. Thanks." I said, snapping to it. I scolded myself! I liked smart guys, deep thinkers, revolutionaries. Not jocks. Never the steamroller type.
"So, your senior year in Samstown. Can't be too exciting for a world traveler like you." He said, and smiled at me. Oh, the smile was going to be the death of me. I melted.
"Um, yeah. Not my dream place." I replied. He walked over to a mercedes. I gasped. I hadn't seen one in over a year.
"SLR Class." I gasped. "Whoever drives this is one lucky son of bitch." He laughed, and I understood why when he held up the keys.
"No way!" I shouted, taking the keeps from him. My purple nail polished finger tracing over the locking mechanism.
"Yes way." He said, and took the keys back. He unlocked it and I climbed in, breathing in the new leather seat smell.
"You've been in one of these before." He said.
"Yeah. But not this new." I told him, and closed my eyes. I could picture the confused look on his face. Me, my torn jeans and converse, long sleaved hooded gray shirt and jean jacket. My incredibly curly platnum blonde hair with light brown highlights, and peireced nose, sitting in this $500,000 car claiming to have been in one.
"Mine wasn't a convertable though. And not the SLR-class. The SL." I said. I opened my eyes expecting to see a very confused William sitting next to me. Instead, he was smiling.
"Those are nice too." He said. "What happened to yours?"
"Uh-" I didn't want to explain. I didn't want to tell him the horrible past year of my life. Going from rich business man's daughter to poor business man who has lost everything and had to move back to his shitty hometown's daughter.
"Sorry. Not my business." He said. Though I figured he had probably already heard the story.
"It's okay. I'm sure you know it anyway. We lost all our money a year ago. Shady broker and business partner. It's a long boring story, I'll spare you the details." I said, and smiled.
"I'll take you the fun way." He said, and stepped on the gas. He turned onto a small road and sped up even more. We approached a sharp turn to the left, going way to fast. I wan't scared though. My heart accelerated, and I felt myself smile. I real true smile. One I hadn't felt in a long time. Not since my mom- I cut off that thought. I wasn't going to ruin this.
"WOOOOO!" I shouted, after taking one sharp turn after another. Before I knew it we were at school.

  5. "Fun?" He asked, and smiled.
"Tons." I said. "Thank you so much."
"Anytime." He said, and got out. I took a deep breath and reached for the door handle, but the door flew open. He was already there, hand out waiting to help me out. I blushed, and took his hand. He had such a strong grip.
"Thank you." I said, and climbed out. He shut the door behind me. I looked him over. Brand new blue jeans, black t-shirt, blue and white baseball jearsy, expensive tennis-shoes, and now back-pack. He carried his books, of course. Too cool for a back pack. And again, not my type! Why was he so cute to me?
"Do you know where your first class is?" He asked. "I can walk you to it."
    "Um-" I started to reply.
"WILL!" A girl shouted. "Over here!" We both turned around and there stood a gorgeous brunetted cheerleader. Tall, shapley and perfect. Me in another life. Well, accept for the Tall shapley and perfect part. I was 5'4 abd always on the thinner side. I still had some of the slender muscle from my dancing days, but not much.
William looked over at me, about to say something.
"Go ahead, I know where I'm going." I snarled and ran off. Great, now you're rude! I thought to myself. Why are you so suprised he has a girlfriend? I asked myself.
Truth was, I didn't know where I was going. I had no clue where I was going. The bell rang and I didn't even know where my locker was.
